CAREER ADVICE

A second opinion from someone a few years ahead.

Every week we match you with someone who signed up to help, with the same experience as you or more. One 20-minute video call, booked when you're both free.

The hardest questions are the ones you can't ask at work.

  • Your manager is the only senior person you know well.

And some of your questions are about your manager, your pay or leaving.

  • Advice online is written for everyone.

It doesn't know your field, your level or the offer sitting in your inbox.

  • Messaging a senior stranger feels like a big ask.

So you don't, and you make the call on your own.

What's different after a few calls

A second opinion before big decisions

On an offer, a promotion or a move, before you decide.

Answers to what you can't ask at work

You're never matched with someone from your own company.

A few points of view, not one

Someone new each week, so no single opinion decides for you.

How it works

  1. 1

Pick “Get career advice” when you sign up.

  2. 2

Every Sunday, we match you with someone who signed up to help and book a time you're both free.

  3. 3

Leave a note with your question, then talk for 20 minutes on video. Next week, someone new.

They have the same experience as you or more, usually in your field. Never from your company, and they don't see what you said you're looking for.

Questions

Is this the same as having a mentor?+

Not quite. A mentor is one person over a long time. Here it's someone new each week, so you hear several takes on the same question. If you want one long-term mentor, here's how to find one when you don't know anyone senior.

Who gives the advice?+

People who signed up to mentor, or to hire and refer, with the same experience as you or more. You see their name, field, career stage, company and LinkedIn before the call.

Can I keep talking to someone I liked?+

Yes. Connect on LinkedIn: their profile is on the meeting card. We won't match the two of you again.

Is it free?+

Yes, it's free right now.

Start before you need it.

Sign up, tell us what you're after, and your first match will show up on your dashboard.
