Touchbase matches you with one person in your field each week and books a short video call between you. To do that we need some information about you. This page explains what we collect, who can see it and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@touchbase.network.
What we collect
When you sign up: your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your name and profile photo with us.
Your profile: your name, photo, country, time zone, field, career stage, company, LinkedIn link, phone number, the times you're free, what you're looking for from the calls, and how you heard about Touchbase. We also note which website or link first brought you to Touchbase. If someone invited you, we note whose invite it was.
Your calls: who you were matched with and when, any note you leave for your match before a call, and your answer after each call (whether it happened, how useful it was, whether the other person pitched you, and any comment you add).
Feedback: anything you send with the Feedback button in your dashboard, and which page you sent it from.
Video calls: calls run on Daily. We don't record them, and nobody at Touchbase listens in. Daily tells us when each person joined and how long they stayed, which is how we know whether a call happened.
Technical data: the cookies that keep you signed in, and the standard logs our hosting keeps (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to run the site and keep it secure. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To match you with people, which right now we do by hand.
- To book calls, create the video room and send you emails about your calls: booking, changes, reminders and a check-in afterwards.
- To keep the calls worth having: we act on reports of pitching and on missed calls. Two missed calls pause your matching until you come back.
- To answer you when you write to us.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see what
The people you're matched with see your name, photo, field, career stage, company and LinkedIn, plus any note you write for them. They never see your email, your phone number, what you said you're looking for, or what you answer about the call.
Touchbase can see your full profile and your call history, because we use them to match people.
Our service providers handle data only to run Touchbase for us:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and photo storage, on servers in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Daily: runs the video calls.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these companies process data outside India.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. If you want your account deleted, email us. We'll delete your profile, photo, notes and feedback within 30 days. Our email and video providers keep their own logs for a limited time under their own policies.
Your choices
- You can change your profile, photo, availability and contact details at any time in Settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@touchbase.network.
- We only email you about your calls and your account. There are no marketing emails.
Security
Your data is protected by access rules in the database itself. Each person can only read their own profile, and your matches can only read the few details listed above. Our service keys stay on our servers. Video rooms are private to each call, and only the two people in it can join. Everything travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with what you give us and will tell you if something goes wrong.
Age
Touchbase is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll also email you.
